The MJH Group is now the third largest builder in Australia

The MJH Group is now the third largest builder in Australia according to the HIA – Colourbond Steel Housing 100 report.

The NSW based Home builder improved by 2 places from fifth to third with 4,548 starts recorded. The group added an additional 1,787 starts this year from last year or a 60 percent increase.

MJH Group Managing Director Andrew Helmers said the results reflected the commitment to the strategic plan, the hard work by the team and the influence of the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder scheme.

“It’s been widely reported that the HomeBuilder grant brought a significant lift to the industry as reflected in the total increase in starts as recorded by the HIA, up from 69,459 last year to 88,215,” Mr Helmers said.

“The results this year are the best the Group has ever recorded with NSW, ACT and Tasmania sitting at number one in their respective state and territory. Our Queensland business Brighton Homes, moved from 10th to second for number of starts in detached and semi-detached houses and our South Australian operation Weeks homes moved from seventh to fourth.”

“But while the results are pleasing for us it’s not about the numbers but doing the right thing by our customers.”

“We are now focused on delivering new homes to our customers and navigating the challenges the industry is currently facing with material constraints and we have a number of strategies in play to achieve that."

“I would also like to acknowledge the hard work the HIA has done particularly in NSW to help the industry during lockdown and to get us back to 100 percent capacity next week.”

The MJH Group is comprised of McDonald Jones Homes, Mojo homes, MJH Multi, Complete by McDonald Jones ( NSW), Brighton homes (QLD), Wilson Homes (TAS), and Weeks Homes (SA).
